Interesting Sites
This is my dads businesss website. I think this site clearly shows what services they offer along with making it easy to contact them. It also gives a list of other businesses and institutions that they have worked with and had good experiences with. In addition to customer testimonials to the quality of the work provided. I think this website does a good job of combining aesthetic, interactive, and informational aspects.
The welcome page of Pinterest is one that I think is visually appealing. I think it matched the overall mood and vibe of the site itself. The way that the information is presented is simple yet shows the entire idea behind the site itself with bright colors that attract the eye.
I think the opening page of Etsy is interesting in the sense that it constantly changes based on the season, trends and your personal interests. I also like the set up with different sections being shown by the item you are looking for or an item related to what you're looking for. I think it makes the website easier to navigate if you're unsure exactly what you're looking for.
The way that Nike shows the various sports sections being promoted by a famous athlete is in my opinion a smart advertising technique and also a good organization method. The website has a clean appearance while still being visually appealing. I think the basic black and white background and text allows for their products to be featured in a way that is not overstimulating.
The Brandy Melville site has a unique feature that I have personally not seen on other clothing sites. This site allows you to shop a specific outfit that is either popular or featured while also offering the typical online shopping method. This website also has a similar appeal to the Nike site where the brand colors are subdued to allow the products to be featured without being overwhelming to the viewer.
